Bigger -is not- always better! At Straub Technologies we don't believe that putting the largest head and largest cam on your engine is the most effective way to make the most power. We believe in making power by using correctly sized components and the calculations based on those components.

Our philosophy of "engine combination" starts with basic math. Piston speed is the demand set by the engine. Supply is determined by the head's airflow. The camshaft is the brain of the engine.

Each of these kits is engineered to make a given amount of power. These combinations are proven builds that will give you the power you want from your hot rod.

Hydraulic Roller cams come standard on SADI Cores, except for LS, which are steel.   

Solid roller cams come standard on a steel core.(Bronze distributor gear optional if purchased from Straub Technologies) 

Street/Touring:   This package will maximize the power band under the curve for an engine that will be mostly street driven. This is a broad, flat, and useable power band that will work with vacuum accessories with no issues at all. Nice rumble at idle and wicked throttle response throughout the power band.

Street / Strip:  This package will maximize the power band under the curve for an engine that will be used on the street and at the track. This is a broad, flat, and useable power band in the RPM range needed to make the desired power. These packages can have issues with vacuum assisted accessories, depending on your combination. These packages can use self-learning EFI if desired. Aggressive idle note and extremely quick throttle response.

Competition Drag:  This package is designed to maximize power in any form of drag racing. This package is designed to keep the horsepower and torque peaks as close in number and RPM as possible to maximize shift recovery and acceleration down the track. These packages are deadly consistent for bracket racing. Each package includes a custom camshaft.  

Competition Pulling:  This package is designed to maximize power for sled pulling. The horsepower and torque bands are designed to maximize wheel speed and limit RPM drop after the pan is dropped. Each kit includes a custom camshaft.

Marine Pleasure:  These packages are designed for performance marine pleasure boats. All I/O packages are designed to be used with a bravo drive with a wet exhaust and operate from 850-5600RPM. All jet drive packages are designed to idle between 1000-1200RPM and make power from 3200-6200RPM. All v-drive packages are designed to idle between 900-1100RPM and make power from 4000-6500RPM.
